A Prayer

I couldnt see the womans complexion
Behind the strings of her harp.
Her music was divine,
It smoothed the wrinkles of the night
And raised to the celestial infinity.
Is this a tribute to eternity, I asked?
Oh, no, she said,
this is a prayer
for a morsel of love.

Home

It takes a lifetime
To find your way
through the jungle of faces,
Through the maze of paths
And shortcuts.
You may survive
In the ocean
Of lost illusions.
However,
Consider yourself lucky
Only if you some day find
A place you can call
Home.

Insensible

Ive never dared look
At the lonely nest
Of a bird that has
Flown away.
I am terrified by emptiness.
Ive never waved goodbye
To people leaving,
For fear they may not return.
I want to be insensible.
I would like to sail.
Lying naked, unobserved on the deck,
Drawn by the unattainable horizon,
I shall succumb
To the absence of you.

Maybe

Darkness holds me
By the hand
And leads me
Into the world of reverie.
I carry a lantern,
In case
You should get curious
To see my face.
But dreams seldom come true.
Maybe,
Some day,
In our next lives,
By the light of a candle
You will notice me.

Voyeur

Ill walk in
Through the porch
Of your soul
And look around
For a vacant seat.
If I hear music
Ill turn down the volume
And enter
The pantry
Of your mind.
And if it is locked
Or crowded with people,
Ill take off
My dark sunglasses
And join you
Through the back door
Into the Garden
Of obsession.

Weird

A woman
Cut her veins
The other day.
They found a note:
I couldnt stand
Human indifference.
She must have been
Weird, this woman.
What did she
Really expect?
